Donauplex Facade
Donau Plex houses the cinema complex along with the food & beverage outlets which are regularly visited by shoppers and the local community of Vienna.
The entrance has a very prominent position and is immediately visible by people arriving by car, public transport or the metro. With multiple viewing angles located at the junction of a major intersection, the client wanted to create an entrance façade that was complimentary to the activities happening inside the centre whilst drawing and welcoming people into the building.
The concept was to use light to create a dramatic, dynamic and engaging façade that captured the excitement of going to the cinema.
As part of the design solution lights were integrated into the stair risers and fully bespoke dynamic LED lights were designed and carefully integrated into the façade and ceilings which provided several light shows and scenes come night-time.
