Fronting the vibrant King’s Road, Varley’s flagship store in London stands as a beacon of sophisticated elegance, embodying the brand’s signature fusion of distinct aesthetic and timeless style.
Our team was delighted to collaborate with Varley and Ham Interiors to craft a lighting design that enhances their creative vision while harmonising seamlessly with the store’s unique interior features.
At the core of the lighting strategy was a carefully planned balance of ambient and accent lighting to create an atmosphere of refined intimacy.
Ambient lighting, delivered through a captivating ensemble of decorative pendants, wall sconces, table lamps and picture lights, bathes the space in a warm, inviting glow, akin to the comforting ambience of a well-appointed home. Meanwhile, accent lighting, expertly employed through a combination of recessed downlights and linear LEDs discretely integrated within the custom joinery, brings the merchandise to life with precision without overwhelming the senses.
The lighting scheme is complemented by adjustable spotlights, concealed within magnetic tracks along the windows and providing the flexibility required to adapt to the changing displays.
The result is a lighting scheme that elevates the shopping experience, transforming the retail space into a haven of refined elegance and home-like ambience where comfort and style converge: customers are enveloped in a sense of warmth and intimacy, encouraged to linger, explore, and immerse themselves in the world of Varley.
